ABOUT

"A great young talent."

- Jim Pennington, owner of The Peoples Room

Uncle Emmington's eclectic influences range from Cavetown to Beach Bunny to Kimya Dawson to Taylor Swift. Her debut album, "Unoriginal," revealed the potential of this young singer-songwriter as it touched listeners with her relatable lyrics packaged in catchy tunes. The EP has surpassed 15,000 streams, with no indication of losing momentum.

In May 2021, Uncle Emmington dazzled the audience at her debut performance at The Peoples Room of Mobile, an intimate listening room venue that allowed her to share many of the diverse songs she has written since her initial release, as well as the stories behind them. Listening to her songs is like sneaking a peek in a diary, her poetry expressing a feast of raw thoughts and feelings: angst, guilt, romantic passion, joy, nostalgia, hope.

Released in January 2022, Uncle Emmington's album, "Alphabet Soup" -- available on all major streaming platforms -- has surpassed 11,000 streams on Spotify.

She has given two return performances at The Peoples Room of Mobile, one in March 2022 and one in July 2023.

In Spring 2022, Alphabet Soup was chosen to be included on the streaming service Blast Music, launched by the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library to host music from artists in the Tennessee Valley.

In April 2023, Uncle Emmington made her festival debut at Panoply Arts Festival in Huntsville, Alabama. She's gone on to play at the 2023 Monte Sano Art Festival.

"Unpretentious, with a charming, thoughtful honesty."

                                    - Thomas Burns Scully, music journalist

"... full of short, heartfelt, acoustically-driven songs."

       - Little Known Tracks podcast, album review of "Alphabet Soup"

"By far, my favorite of the lot was Uncle Emmington's Alphabet Soup ... folk pop songs that never overstay their welcome."
                                                - Matt Hankins, 256 Today

"There’s mood and tension in Em’s choice of chords, but it’s the way Emmington brings melody to her lyrics that makes her such a good songwriter."

                                     - Teri Woods, Moths and Giraffes
